A downloadable game

Project Aurora is a third-person creature hunting demo set in a stylized spruce forest.

Monsters here don't wait politely to be caught. Fight one down and it staggers - a brief window where it's helpless and you can raise your scanner. Hold R, keep the beam steady, and it de materializes into your collection.

Miss the window and it gets back up angry.

The catch is the catch. Your odds improve the weaker the monster is, so every stagger is the same question: scan now at middling odds, or land one more hit for a better chance and risk killing the thing you wanted to keep. Killing is what happens by default. Capture is what happens when you stop swinging in time.

Each species reacts differently. Some flee the moment you touch them. Some ignore you until you start it. Some come for you the second they see you.

What this is

A demo, and my first game. It's a slice of a larger idea: one biome, a handful of species, and the core hunt-and-capture loop working end to end. There's no ending yet - play until you've caught what you want to catch.

Built solo in Unreal Engine. Feedback very welcome.
